Our journey begins with one of our biggest creature acts..

4th Century – St George and the Dragon

George and the Dragon
Hire entertainment for St George day. The UK’s most unique dragon entertainment.

St. George’s Day is a celebration of the patron saint of England, who was a Roman soldier and a Christian martyr in the 4th century AD. He is best known for the legend of slaying a dragon that terrorized a city and rescued a princess who was offered as a sacrifice. St. George’s Day became a national feast day in England after the Battle of Agincourt in 1415, when the English army invoked his name and won against the French. The legend of St George lives on and is celebrated every year! Given the info, it’s not a suprise our most popular act for this point of our timeline is St George.. And the dragon!

14th Century – Pirates

An incredibly unique pirate act with mini ships – available UK and worldwide.

Pirates have existed for a long time, since at least 1353 BCE or even earlier. They plundered goods from other ships and coastal areas in different regions of the world, such as the Mediterranean, the Atlantic, the Indian Ocean, and the Caribbean. Some pirates were government-sanctioned privateers, while others were outlaws who sought adventure and freedom. Pirates faced various enemies and challenges, such as ancient Greek and Roman navies, Barbary pirates of North Africa, and Henry Morgan and Bartholomew Roberts, some of the most famed pirates. Pirates also had distinctive features, such as Blackbeard’s flaming beard and the popular culture’s image of the 17th-18th-century Caribbean pirates. Pirates are fun, they’re feisty and they are well renowned throughout history! So as you can see we certainly favour pirate themed entertainment over this time period. We have on offer for this time in history, pirate performers on roaming ships, pirate games, pirate stilt walkers and pirate bubble performers too! We also have a couple of mermaids floating about too..

15th Century – Jesters

Book jester entertainment for your event this summer! Enter the world of the fool..

A jester, court jester, fool or joker was a member of the household of a nobleman or a monarch employed to entertain guests during the medieval and Renaissance eras. Jesters were also itinerant performers who entertained common folk at fairs and town markets, and the discipline continues into the modern day, where jesters perform at historical-themed events. During the Middle Ages, jesters are often thought to have worn brightly colored clothes and eccentric hats in a motley pattern. Their modern counterparts usually mimic this costume. Jesters entertained with a wide variety of skills: principal among them were song, music, and storytelling, but many also employed acrobatics, juggling, telling jokes (such as puns, stereotypes, and imitation), and performing magic tricks. Much of the entertainment was performed in a comic style. Many jesters made contemporary jokes in word or song about people or events well known to their audiences. Jesters are hilariously and notoriously entertaining, no wonder they’re so popular for events! They’re still very common present day too! Hence being a treasured favourite since the 15th century. To book jester themed entertainment is to book guarenteed fun for all!

18th Century – Rococo Ladies

High end, super posh rococo themed entertainment. Get a taste of the 18th century.

The Rococo style began in France in the 1730s as a reaction against the more formal and geometric Louis XIV style. It was known as the “style Rocaille”, or “Rocaille style”. It soon spread to other parts of Europe, particularly northern Italy, Austria, southern Germany, Central Europe and Russia. It also came to influence the other arts, particularly sculpture, furniture, silverware, glassware, painting, music, and theatre. Although originally a secular style primarily used for interiors of private residences, the Rococo had a spiritual aspect to it which led to its widespread use in church interiors, particularly in Central Europe, Portugal, and South America. Rococo fashion is delightful, beautiful and highly pleasing to the eye. This act is a level of perfection between aesthetics, photo-opportunity and comedy. Because darling, perfection is everything, and our Rococo character performers will not let you forget it is so.
